MTS PREMIUM STUDIO LIGHTING SUSPENSION

ABOUT MTS Pantographs

MTS pantographs offer a robust and dependable solution for overhead lighting suspension in studios and event spaces. Designed for smooth vertical travel and precise positioning, they are available in two general versions to suit your specific operational needs and budget:

  • SZM 25-60 Manual/Pole-Operated Pantographs – Simple, safe, and effective control via a twistable operator bell.
  • SZE 40-60 Motorized Pantographs – Powered lifting with advanced safety features for high-performance environments.

Both versions feature a dual carrying mechanism on a precision drum, ensuring smooth movement and load stability. A dedicated power cable is precisely guided along the integrated scissor system, with additional cabling options such as Ethernet or DMX available on request. All pantographs support a maximum drop of 6 meters, making them ideal for a wide range of studio heights and configurations.

Motorized SZE pantographs come equipped with intelligent safety systems, including:

  • Slack Rope Detection – Prevents collisions by monitoring cable tension
  • Overload Detection – Enhances operational safety by avoiding over-capacity use

At MTS, safety, quality, and durability are non-negotiable. All our pantographs are built from premium components and undergo strict testing to meet the highest standards. Every unit fully complies with EN 17206 and DGUV V17 (BGV C1) safety regulations.

1) SZM 20-60

MTS’s manual pantographs are designed for the accurate vertical positioning of lighting, audio, and video equipment in studio environments. Operated via pole control, these units provide smooth and secure adjustment without the need for motorization.

The SZM 25–60 model refers to a cable-based manual pantograph with an extension range from 2  to 6 meters, supporting loads of up to 30 kg.

Every pantograph is built to the highest standards of safety and reliability, and custom adaptations are available on request to suit specific technical or spatial requirements.

  • Payload: 30 kg
  • SZM 25-50: two 2.0 mm steel ropes ensure safe support (SZM 60: 2 x 1,6mm)
  • self-locking, maintenance-free drive system is technically oversized for long-term reliability
  • Upper attachment: DIN TV spigot, d = 28 mm
  • Load atachment: DIN TV socket, d = 29 mm

2) SZE 40-60

TS motorized pantographs offer high-precision vertical positioning for lighting, audio, and video equipment—delivering exceptional control, safety, and flexibility in demanding studio environments. Each luminaire can be individually adjusted, allowing for dynamic and creative lighting design. For enhanced versatility, optional motorized horizontal adjustment is also available.

Built from high-strength aluminum rectangular profiles, MTS pantographs ensure maximum structural integrity with minimal retracted height. The extension range reaches up to 6 meters, depending on model and configuration. For greater lifting heights, MTS telescopes, hoist systems, or polelights are recommended.

Choose from different control unit options:

  • FCP PRO: fully automated studio control system
  • FCP 900: simple yet efective control unit on sight
  • Button control: for simple up/down movement of individual devices
  • Wireless control units

Choose from different outlet options:

  • Power Supply (Schuko, CEE, Powercon, etc.)
  • DMX
  • Audio
  • Video
  • etc.

As we manufacture our lifting equipment order-related in our factory, we can react to customer-specific change requests at any time and implement them as required. Here are some of the variable key data of our Studio Hoists:

  • supply lines and sockets (e.g. Schuko, CEE, Powercon, XLR, etc)
  • various load bars (length and type)
  • variable stroke
  • individual overload settings
  • customer-specific carrying ropes
  • carriages for all common running rail systems
  • individual control concepts
  • and more

Siutable Control UNits:

Our motorized studio lighting suspensions are powered by a decentralized control logic, minimizing downtime and ensuring maximum operational readiness. Each suspension device is equipped with an independent motor control unit, which continuously monitors all safety-critical parameters, including:

  • Overload protection
  • Slack-rope detection
  • Cable breakage detection
  • Upper and lower working end positions
  • Upper and lower emergency stop positions

Our system offers scalable automation levels, ranging from simple up/down controls to standard control panels with group selection (FCP 900) and fully automated studio control units (FCP PRO).

The FCP PRO offers the most advanced rigging control for bigger studios.

The FCP 900 controls goups with up to 10 devices.
