Dynamic Exhibition Design at Humboldt Forum, Berlin

At MTS | MovieTech, we love seeing our technology used in creative and unexpected ways. One of our most exciting projects took us beyond the world of TV studios and stage rigging—into the heart of one of Germany’s most significant cultural spaces: Humboldt Forum in Berlin.

For this unique exhibition, the design team wanted to create a fluid, ever-changing space using moveable elements. Instead of static displays, they envisioned a landscape of floating vitrines, which could shift and transform as needed—whether for exhibitions, lectures, or events.

Our Contribution

To bring this concept to life, we provided:

Planning & Statical Assessments – ensuring everything was structurally sound.
Steel Support Structure – forming the backbone of the entire rigging system.
MTS AS T Rail System – allowing smooth and precise horizontal movement of vitrines.
MTS SZE 40 B Pantographs – ensuring flexible height adjustments.
MTS FCP 900 Control Unit – giving operators effortless control over movement and floating scenes.
Custom Acrylic Vitrines – floating display cases that adapt to the space.

A Space That Evolves With Every Event

The flexibility of the system allows the exhibition area to change dynamically. With just a few adjustments, the vitrines can rise, lower, or move, opening up space for lectures, presentations, or interactive events. It’s a perfect example of how studio machinery can redefine exhibition design, creating an experience that’s both functional and visually striking.

At MTS, we thrive on innovative projects like this, where our expertise in studio rigging and control systems finds new and exciting applications.
